Following our news at the beginning of the week about Senator Rory Respicio and his efforts to get medical marijuana legalized in the US territory of Guam, there have been new developments.

Today the Senator withdrew his initial proposal and has replaced it with Compassionate Health Care Bill 423 (COR).  Respicio gave his reasons for the change as follows:

“I believe the discussion should focus on the medicinal use of cannabis for patient care, and on providing  treatment  for  those  in  need.  Unfortunately,  discussion  has  concentrated  on  almost everything related to cannabis EXCEPT how it can help these seriously ill patients. I made a few amendments to the bill that should help refine the discussion, and reintroduced it. The original bill has been withdrawn.”
