I was under a great deal of stress, and I asked the doctor for some tranquilizers. BIG MISTAKE!</strong> He gave me pills called "Mellaril". I took them for 5 years until the divorce was finalized. When I stopped the pills, I noticed that I could not stop moving my toes and feet, and my face would contort into a horrible scowl. Saw the doc again, and he told me I have tardive dyskinisia caused by the mellaril. I have smoked MJ for almost 40 years, and noticed when I smoke, my symptoms of tardive dyskinisia totally go away. Medical MJ is legal where I live, so I asked my doctor for a prescription, but no, he wouldn't do it. Went to a naturopath, but he would not prescribe it, either. So, we have this great, legal treatment for my condition, yet no doctor will prescribe it! I just found out about the REGLAN causing TARDIVE DYSKINSIA when i wen back to the neuro for what i thought were symptoms of my DDD and they didn't find anything on an EEG as far as further degeneration in the area of the spine that would cause the problems with my hands and arms--thanks it is not just anti-physicotic drugs, I HAVE BEEN ON REGLAN FOR TEN YEARS!!!! for stomach problems when all i had to do is smoke a little cannabis–BUT NO!!!! not in my state!!!!not YET, BUT IT WILL be legal soon.
